THE ROLE:
The Successful Candidate will report directly to the International COO’s and the domestic Senior Engineering VP. They will be a value generator with a Reservoir Engineering background, capable of coordinating and a multi-disciplinary effort to exploit unconventional resources in both Western Canada and Internationally. This role is full time, permanent and is based in Calgary.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILL SET:
• University Degree in Engineering
• Must have 7-15 years experience
• Professional Engineer
• Experience with Reservoir Modeling
• Experience with Completion design and execution and unconventional applications
• Experience with a Major company would be an asset
• Highly organized and a strong attention to detail
• Excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, and team focused skills
• Results oriented, decisive, and self-motivated

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide input into the reserves assessment and reservoir modeling
• Gather and analyze technical data
• Review production analogs
• Reservoir input for commercial application submissions

Our client in all their endeavors–from annual reserve updates to multidimensional, multiphase models of complex reservoirs—are directed by a philosophy that values Knowledge, Integrity, and Service.

This is a 4 to 6 month contact position. The successful Candidate must be used to working in a team environment and will be required to give regular reports to the project coordinator. Written work must be clear and well written. The Candidate will report to the President throughout the project but secondary reporting will be to another Sr. Engineer and our VP of Geology

Project description and tasks:

Reservoir study is located Offshore Indian in fluvial marine, deepwater environments.
The field is not producing at this time.
The reservoir is primarily gas with low yields of condensate. No oil has been identified.
Petrel model will be built by their geological and petrophysical team in Calgary.
Eclipse model is presently built with data up to five years ago and will be modified to reflect changes in Petrel and new well data.
Several development cases will be built for full exploitation of the multiple reservoirs within the field.

Working hours are 7.5 hr/day average. Flex time is available and negotiable.

As a contractor no benefits will be paid. However if the work becomes full time (other projects) then a comprehensive benefits plan is available for all employees.

At the time of an interview the candidate must provide considerable evidence of his/her achievements using Eclipse.

The successful candidate will report to the Manger, Reservoir Engineering and be accountable for providing leadership for facility process engineering design and operation.

This contract position will be based out of our Client’s main office in Calgary and offer the potential to be a full time, permanent position.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities will include, but not being limited to the following:

Contribute as a member of a multi-disciplined oil sands team to provide input into the reserves assessment and reservoir modeling;
Provide input, direction and assessment/evaluation on existing oil sands assets;
Identify and coordinate technical data gathering & analysis;
Assist teams in assessing project risk and uncertainty on capital programs;
Work with Reservoir Engineering staff in practical and analytical processes for implementation into their work processes.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILL SET:

University degree in Engineering and a registered APEGGA member;
Minimum 8 – 10 years related industry experience directly involved with oil sands reservoir engineering aspects;
Experience with advanced Decline Curve Analysis, OFM, Reservoir Simulation & CMG Suite and Exotherm is an asset;

Our Client has an excellent contract opportunity for a highly motivated Reservoir Engineer. As an integral member of our technical team, you will assist in evaluating exploitation and development opportunities in our area. You will be accountable for generating a long range plan based on current reservoir performance, resource assessment and various development options.

Responsibilities:
· work with the technical team to create a long range plan (LRP) that incorporates drilling, optimization, and facility consolidation in order to maximize value generation for the property
· prepare field depletion strategies to enhance recovery
· provide key input to the annual URP (Unbooked Resource Potential) and budget processes
· coordinate annual reserve audits
· provide reservoir management expertise, including tracking well and pool performance using decline analysis, pressure transient analysis, and material balance

Qualifications:
· must be legally entitled to work in Canada
· P.Eng with approximately 10+ years related experience
· strong quantitative analysis and reservoir engineering skills
· experience with economic analysis
· ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
· experience with pressure transient analysis would be an asset
· knowledge of production engineering issues and optimization would be an asset.
