A min of 8+yrs experience working at an HR Advisor role with international business units. This position must be astute in US HR Labor Laws, such as EEOC, Affirmative Action, Comp/Benefits, Staffing/Recruiting, Employee Relations, Strategic Planning. They will report directly to the HR Director in Houston, Texas and a dotted line report to the President of the Business Unit in Calgary. They will commute between Calgary and Houston and other international locations. Travel is at least 30% of the time. This is a DOER position. This is a stand alone role.

Our Client is a very successful and growing Oil and Gas Completions service company, with 360 people worldwide, that is searching for a HR Generalist to report to the HR Director.
The Candidate must have a general background of human resources and preferably from the Oil and Gas Industry.
If located in Calgary, there will be 1-2 days travel to Edmonton. Edmonton location is also a possibility.
An asset to the position, however, not a requirement would be in the compensation and benefits area as this will not be a regular responsibility for the role.

BASIC FUNCTIONS: Provide the full spectrum of day-to-day Human Potential (HP) generalist support and consultation to the management and staff of the finance and accounting teams reporting through the Vice-President & Controller.
RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports to the Manager, Human Potential
- Interacts regularly with all of the managers and staff reporting to the Vice-President & Controller
- Works closely with Vice-President, HP Advisors and Supervisor, Payroll & Benefits on the HP team SPECIFIC
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Annual compensation review for client groups including salary, STIP and LTIP components
- Out-of-cycle compensation reviews as required for client groups
- Submit data to the Towers Perrin and/or Mercer surveys annually as well as survey updates as required
- Provide HP perspective to client managers during organizational reviews and help determine effective change management strategies
- HP support for clients during organizational changes
- Recruitment: candidate sourcing, screening, interviews and selection
- Performance management support to managers
- Exit interviews for voluntary terminations; termination trend analysis
- Provide progressive discipline options to managers; help with involuntary terminations as required
- Training: source and organize training opportunities for client groups as required
- Monthly Head Office organization chart preparation and headcount analysis
- Write and update HP policies as required
- Research various HP topics and industry trends as required. QUALIFICATIONS:
- University degree applicable to Human Potential.
- CHRP designation would be considered an asset.
- 5+ years oil and gas human resources experience preferred
- Above average experience with integrations following merger and acquisition activity
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Requires a high level of organizational, analytical, problem solving and administrative skills as well as the ability to work independently in a busy environment and to complete/projects assignments in a timely fashion
- Knowledge of compensation administration and international HP would be considered an asset
- Ability to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing environment
- Customer services focused
