THE POSITION:
Our Client is looking for an energetic self motivated engineer with 10+ years experience in the Oil & Gas or Consulting Industry with a background in International Reserve Evaluations.
• The successful candidate would oversee a team of Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists managing the completion of Reserve Evaluation projects as well as the scope of projects and analysis.
• Successful candidates must have strong leadership qualities and experience as well as exude the technical skills and behaviors listed within.

KEY SKILLS:
• Leadership and Management skills
• Previous experience in International Reserve Evaluations an asset
• Previous experience in Reservoir Simulations an asset
• Experience auditing Reservoir Simulation models and reserves reports
• Field development planning experience
• Resource assessment experience
• Combination of technical excellence and strong interpersonal skills
• Mentoring or coaching skills an asset
• Are active members of APEGGA and other relevant associations
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ensure the timely processing of mail ballots, AFE’s & results letters.
• Manage correspondence between internal and external stakeholders
• Work closely with JV Reps, providing administrative support
• Problem solve and respond to various JV queries
• Periodic project participation

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILL SET:
• Proficient with an advanced level of JV Administrative experience
• An understanding of Joint Venture agreements is essential

The Manager, Project Management is responsible for the planning, organization, direction, control, execution and evaluation of Electric and Controls projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget. As the top Manager, Project Management resource in the Company, the Manager, Project Management is responsible for developing and assuring Company-wide project management and control standards, processes and systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

. Leads the E&C Project Management team, providing day to day supervision, guidance, ensuring their
ongoing development
. Develops and implements training programs for project management team and other departments.
. Ensures quality assurance standards and project management protocols are established and
maintained.
. Ensures that the project team adheres to approved procedures, processes and methodologies as
outlined in the Company Project Management Plan and as necessary tailor project controls procedures,
process and methodologies to specific project requirements within accepted and approved
parameters.
. Participates in the development of bid package processes and communicates with sales and
estimating to ensure the management and compliance of bid packages with established guidelines
and processes.
. Liaises with production management to ensure accordance with standards and best practices.
. Provides direction in the development of processes, standards, and best practices when determining
estimates for project activities.
. Provides project management staff with assistance in reviewing design, labour, and material
estimations, and implementing monitoring processes for project execution.
. Provides leadership with direction and support in addressing issues where design and estimations
have deviated from initial proposal / projection. Responsible for management of change documents.
. Works closely with Business Development staff to determine customer needs and new products
development.
. Works closely with staff and customers to ensure on time, on budget delivery of all necessary
components and contract requirements.
. Provides hands-on project management of a variety of oil and gas projects.
. Ensures the timeliness and integrity of monthly project reporting requirements in all disciplines within
the Project Controls scope.
. Assists in yearly budget for project management team.
. Monitors and adjusts group performance to achieve Key Performance Indicators.
. Monitors workload in Project Management group and assigns management of projects.
. Manages the growth of the project management team as required for the E&C business.
. Manages personnel issues as they arise with the focus on Company Culture and Core values.
. Manages and updates the Company’s Project Management Manual and systems process and
guidelines.
. Complies with standards and procedures of the Company Health & Safety Manual and Occupational
Health & Safety Regulations.

Skills, Abilities and Educational Background

. 10 to15+ years’ previous Project Management experience, the last 5-7 years in a supervisory role,
with a background in oil & gas processing.
. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in an engineering discipline or a two-year diploma in a technical
discipline, or a combination of education and experience.
. PMP status preferred.
. Advanced knowledge in MS Office (MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
. Ability to work efficiently and productively in a team environment.
. Able to prioritize effectively and execute multiple tasks quickly.
. Exceptional people, organizational skills and time management skills.
. Excellent verbal/written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

Must have own transportation as location is not accessible with public transportation.

Since then our Client has grown to a manageable size of approximately 25 personnel in house and has developed a close association with select 3rd party firms to allow them to undertake a wide variety of oil and gas facility projects.

Term: Full Time Contract or Staff Employee

Credentials: ‘Engineer in Training’ (E.I.T.) in the Province of Alberta

Education; B.Sc. in a relevant field (i.e. mechanical, petroleum, etc.) from an accredited secondary education facility

Work Experience: ranging from a recent B.Sc. graduate to 1 – 2 years – if experienced, preferably within a facility installation related environment

Job Description: exposure to a wide variety of oil and gas field facility projects, from start to finish, including:

• project scoping
• cost estimating / AFE preparation
• regulatory permitting
• bid document preparation / review in regards to equipment and labour contracts
• cost control
• engineering design
• drawing preparation / review

Skill Set: the following skills would be considered necessary to perform the job requirements satisfactorily:
