THE APPLICANT
The successful applicant will have an excellent work record preferably in an industrial environment; chemical plant experience is a definite asset. The candidate should possess strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to analyze and resolve operational problems involving mechanical equipment and measurements. Applicants will have an/or equivalent to Grade 12 diploma; related post-secondary education is an asset.
Definite Assets: Exposure to WHMIS, TDG and Safety Training, Chemical Mixing Experience, Forklift Experience

THE POSITION
The Plant Operator will be responsible for all production aspects of liquid manufacturing.
- Product identification, produce blended products, identify workplace hazards, identify dangerous materials from WHMIS labels, understand protective equipment and safety procedures.
- Operate and maintain machinery, produce final products, take samples of finished product, and conduct appropriate QC tests on finished goods.
- Operate a forklift, shipping and receiving of dangerous goods, storing product and reorder required materials.
- Volume and measurements calculations of material for production.
- Load and unload bulk trucks using the hose and grounding cables, determine tank capacities, and complete the associated paperwork.
- Transfers from a bulk tank to transfer tote ensuring correct valve procedures for transfers.
- Maintain an organized safe, clean plant and workspace.
- Maintain good communication with coworkers and supervisors.
- Related general plant duties.
Candidates must be over the age of 18 and must be able to handle the physical requirements of the position (lifting up to a maximum of 50 lbs).
