Regulatory Analyst 101-266 – Calgary, Alberta

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Vice President Regulatory, Environment and Stakeholder Affairs (RESA), the Regulatory Affairs Manager will be an instrumental member of the (RESA) team and will be responsible for overseeing the regulatory approval process for all of this Client’s ongoing commercial SAGD applications.

This position will be based out of the head office in Calgary and will be a full time, permanent position.

RESPONBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the application and regulatory approval processes associated with in situ development projects.
  • Work closely with internal technical teams to collect all information required for the application documentation.
  • Liaise with regulators to seek in relation to interpretations, reviews and application approval.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships with regulatory organizations and community relations parties.
  • Work closely with the VP RESA on project strategies, stakeholder relationship management and communications strategies.
  • Manage continuous regulatory and compliance changes required for long term projects.
  • Coordinate the long term objectives and management of the Regulatory team as the organization experiences continuous growth.
  • Direct liaison with ERCB / AENV / DFO in regards to all pilot and commercial scheme applications
  • Responsible for provision of direction to project teams in regards to regulations and projected timelines surrounding proposed developments

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & SKILL SET

  • 8+ years of experience in a similar role with a Degree.
  • Extensive technical knowledge in regulatory requirements for oil sands projects in Alberta.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with key stakeholders and foster effective business relationships
  • Experience working with regulatory applications for insitu oil sands projects (concept through to execution and approval).
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Supervisory or leadership skills would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills are required.
