Senior Processing Geophysicist / Team Leader 101-258 – Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Position Description Summary:
• Perform all aspects of 2D and 3D Land and Marine seismic data processing.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Processing of seismic data from frontier areas and areas of high structural complexity.
• Responsible for processing workflow design and geophysical parameter testing as appropriate on assigned projects.
• Lead and supervise a small team of geophysicists to achieve successful completion of 2D/3D land and Marine seismic data processing projects.
• Coordinate with Imaging Services Manager and other senior staff at Houston office to ensure best quality of products while maintaining maximum efficiency in running projects.
• Responsible for leading technical meetings with clients during project execution.
• Prepare processing and technical reports on geophysical projects.
• Mentoring lesser experienced staff and new hires.
• Support testing and evaluating of new software and methodologies.
• Identify and suggest geophysical products that could yield added value to the client on projects.
• All other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
• Minimum B.Sc. Degree in Geophysics, Physics, Geology, Mathematics or similar field of study.
• Minimum 7 to 10 years of Land/Marine seismic data processing experience.
• Hands on experience and technical understanding of all aspects of Time pre-processing for Land and Marine 2D/3D seismic data.
• Reasonable technical understanding of PreSTM and PreSDM theory and practice for Land and Marine 2D and 3D seismic data.
• Motivated and ability to work independently.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Proven ability of interaction and presentation skills in client and internal meetings.
• Experience using ProMAX processing software.
