Product Development Engineering Supervisor (Calgary, Alberta) 101-230
This position will develop new product concepts and ideas to address market opportunities and client inquiries.
The incumbent of this position will verify and validate new product designs through planning, support and evaluation of laboratory and field tests.
Providing supervisory input for product development and support projects is also required.
This role will ensure that state-of-the-art engineering standards and practices are used to produce innovative products and product documentation packages (e.g. drawings, bills of product verification and validation summaries, project management reports).
Supervising Engineers and Designers on a day-to-day basis, providing technical guidance, coaching, monitoring of project progress, and administrative duties such as Performance Evaluations, travel, and vacation scheduling will also be required.
NECESSARY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering required
- Must have Extensive Oil & Gas Completions Experience
- Must be proficient in engineering principles in order to evaluate product designs, performance, and competitive offerings
- Proficient knowledge in engineering software such as PRO/Engineer, PRO/Mechanica, AutoCAD
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with people at different levels, both internally and externally to the Company.
- Presentation Skills (employee and client presentations)
- Prepare reports
- Should possess proficient manufacturing and/or applications expertise
- Must be able to organize and monitor a variety of product development and support projects with only general direction.
- Must understand and manage financial goals of development projects.
- Must be able to create and maintain a productive environment for staff.
- Creative and Innovative, Detail Oriented, Good Interpersonal Skills, Customer Focused, Results Driven
- Good understanding of the Project Management process
- Understanding of Market/Product/Services
- Maintaining Personal Credibility/Meeting Ethical Standards
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages
- Financial Training for Managers
