Sales Associate – Retail 400-101 – Grande Prairie, Alberta
Our Client is accepting applications for their Client’s position of “Sales Associate – AB Retail”
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the Sales Supervisor, Retail Sales Edmonton, this position is responsible for maximizing sales volume opportunities for dairy and grocery products at key retail locations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Confirm that all listed products are carried and merchandised in the approved plan-o-grams
Set up primary and secondary display activity as it relates to planned promotional activity
Take and process detail orders from participating retailers as required
Liaison with the appropriate sales and distribution personnel to prevent product shortages and lost sales
Communicate new listing and promotional activity to retail locations
Placement of appropriate and approved POS material
Acquiring expertise related to the marketplace
Other duties as required
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-secondary education preferably in Marketing, Sales or Business Administration
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in direct sales or merchandizing within a retail environment preferably food or consumer packaged goods related
Intermediate PC skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Basic accounting knowledge required including accuracy and attention to detail
Capable of multi-tasking and working well under pressure
A disciplined self-starter requiring minimal direct supervision
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required
Able to travel to customer locations within the Red Deer area
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
We are seeking candidates who have the potential to be the future leaders of our organization. The candidate will demonstrate entrepreneurial flare and will have creativity and self-motivation. They must be able to work independently and must have the capacity to multitask. Furthermore, they must be able to bring projects to full completion without close supervision.
COMPENSATION
Salary; 50-55k
Business allowance; 4000.00/year
Km allowance; 7000.00/year, 0,25$/km
Cell phone allowance; 125.00/month
Territory; greater Grande Prairie area including Slave Lake
Over night stays; around 4 nights a month
Company offers a full range of benefits to employees, dental, medical, extended health, all premiums paid by the company. They also have a great pension plan (employee contributes 3% and employer 6%)
We are not necessarily looking for a large experience in sales but for someone who is self motivated and great with people, this position is considered more as an entry level position.
