101-184 Operations Analyst
Basic Functions:
The Operations Analyst is the central focal point for all data related to the company’s base volumes and operating costs. Responsible for gathering, consolidating and analyzing all volumes and OPEX data interpreting this data into meaningful information, and reporting the information and any ideas, observations, findings, conclusions or recommendations in an organized manner to assist the operations teams in making effective decisions to improve team performance and business results. Requires detailed operational understanding of how the field works and an ability to work with the field operations as an integral team member.
Relationships:
Reporting directly to the VP Operations, the Operations Analyst works closely with all members of the operations team (including Operations Managers, foremen, field admin, production engineers), the Development Analysts, the Planning and Development Group and the Accounting Group.
Specific Responsibilities:
Operational Financials:
? Generate and recommend to the Operations Managers for approval, the accruals for the volume and operating costs for their team on a monthly basis.
? Coordinate the forecast submissions for operating costs and base volumes on a monthly basis and ensure understanding of assumptions and drivers behind the forecast, including uncertainties and sensitivities.
? Responsible for the weekly volume report in conjunction with the field; help facilitate the transition to automatic weekly reporting.
? Establish and maintain the hierarchy for their team
Operational Performance:
? Gather, consolidate and analyze all operational data (base volumes, operating costs, maintenance capital) for the operations team .
? Analyze and report on team performance and results relative to budget and forecasts, including standardized monthly and quarterly reports, ensuring data quality and accuracy in the reports.
? Work with the field to provide support for Ziff Benchmarking and the Performance Improvement Strategies.
? Provide support for special projects and analyses from the field operations.
? Help facilitate the transition of managing the processing fees/revenue and non operated properties to the JV Group.
Other:
? Conduct regular field visits to maximize team output and understanding.
? Coordinate the annual OPEX budget submission with the field.
Qualifications:
Requires minimum of 10 years experience in oil and gas business analysis with a relevant university degree. Also excellent computer skills.
