101-183 Property Tax Analyst – Calgary
Basic Functions:
? All property tax compliance, reporting, assessment, valuation, planning and management work
? Liase with municipalities
Relationships:
? Reports to Manager, Tax
? Works directly and in detail with Accounting and Operations groups to properly manage and report property taxes and ultimately derive savings
? Build on relationship with outside property tax advisors
Specific Responsibilities:
? Property taxes may include Linear (wells and pipelines), Industrial (equipment) and Business (buildings) levies. Main jurisdictions are Alberta, B.C. and Sask. municipalities.
? Necessary monthly, quarterly and annual payments and remittances.
? Assessment, valuation and negotiation work with municipalities.
? Detailed assessment and constant updating of TAQA North’s asset locations, extent, quality etc.
? Preparation of tax memos, presentations, and spreadsheet analysis as required.
Qualifications:
? Property tax or other Accounting designations an asset but not required
? 5 -10 years property tax oil and gas experience desirable
? Attention to details
? Self starter willing to put in up front time to develop proper internal property tax function.
? Knowledge of AB, BC and Sask oil and gas property tax rules
? Ability to manage multiple and challenging priorities on a daily basis
? Strong verbal and written communication skills
