500-135 (#221-MH730) Technical Sales – Contract Drilling Rigs (Calgary) (service company)

THE OPPORTUNITY:
This client is seeking to fill an senior contract sales and marketing position within their head office located in Calgary, AB. This position will report directly to the President & CEO and will be responsible for the marketing, selling and closing of drilling contracts.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Maintaining an existing customer base and strive to develop a new customer base
through cold calling and networking
• Work to develop new marketing and sales strategies
• Ability to communicate at the field level as well as to upper management
• Work closely with customers to ensure requirements of drilling programs are met
• Respond to & accurately analyze customer inquiries about product
• Assist in various technical recommendations
• Provide personal sales and operations reports to Senior VP Operations
• Responsible for reviewing invoicing prior to delivering to customers
• Desire to create workable positive solutions for the company as well as the
customer
• Build develop & maintain trustworthy & reliable long term lasting relationships with
customers.
• Attend all training as required and available
• Flexible work hours required
• Represent company and its affiliations in a proper and professional manner

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
• The successful candidate must have 5 – 10 years drilling rig sales experience
• Must have a broad understanding of drilling operations.
• Candidates that have relevant drilling engineering background will be considered.
• A large network of contacts in the Oil and Gas market is a requirement.
• Candidate must be self confident, be persistent in a positive way & take initiative
with enthusiasm
• Have good communication, problem solving & negotiating skills
• Have the ability to build rapport & gain trust with customers
• Be organized and be self disciplined to manage time effectively
• Work independently & as part of a dynamic team
• Work under stressful situations & have the ability to work long hours
• Demonstrate the desire to learn & bring new ideas forward
• Have strong conflict resolution abilities
