101-004 Contract Analyst – Mineral (Calgary) (large, public, producer)
BASIC FUNCTIONS: Prepares and administers land contracts in an assigned geographic area. Vets third party specific conveyance documentation and updates the land system accordingly. Analyses and drafts agreements, monitors contractual obligations in conjunction with the Area Landman. Follows up with third parties on outstanding agreements and documentation and provides ongoing land support to Production Accounting.
RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to the Supervisor, Contracts Administration. As part of Development & Operations asset team, works closely with the area Landman, other members of the asset team, land administration, accounting, marketing, business development and with external parties.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
• preparation and execution of various agreements;
• ensures chain of title accuracy for agreements;
• ensures agreement obligations are fulfilled by all parties;
• reviews, analyzes and interprets existing contracts;
• maintains records within the land system;
• advises the company of changes to key data fields in the land system;
• applies contract, corporate, freehold lease and real property law;
• assists in acquisition and divestment projects.
• Analyze and complete Drilling Approval Forms for new wells. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 5 years experience with a SAIT/MRC contract land administration diploma or 2 years experience with a B.Comm, PLM concentration. Proficient in land computer systems. Extensive knowledge of regulations affecting land tenure. Working knowledge of principles of contract law. Strong analytical, interpretive and organizational skills. Demonstrates initiative, innovation and teamwork. Effective follow-up and time management skills.
