Reporting Relationship
The Operations Manager – Drill Stem Testing,
reports to the General Manager.

Operating Environment
The operating environment is extremely
competitive and requires a high degree of
management expertise in order to ensure that
each of the functions is providing the support
that is required. You are expected to make
personal visits and whenever applicable,
presentations to important customers and
maintain an active and positive relationship
with these individuals. You are expected to
represent the Company in legal, official
functions which can involve cumbersome and time
consuming protocol. You must be sensitive and
aware of the appropriate procedures and steps
required to comply with local laws and
regulations and with Company policies and
practices.

Relationship
Ethical standards of Company must be adhered to
at all times. You must avoid:
1. The employment and discharge of any
employee without prior approval of the Directors.
2. The submissions to a client or potential
client of any proposal bid or tender to be
performed, services to be rendered or equipment
to be supplied unless it is within your approved
authority.
3. The entry or termination into any
contract for the performance of work or the
rendering of services or the supply of equipment
unless it is within your approval authority.
4. The acquisition or disposal of tools or
equipment or other fixed assets other than
stipulated and authorized herein.
5. The entry into or renewal of any
agreement with a Contractor or Supplier or a
Landlord unless it is within your approved
authority Level.
6. The borrowing of any money (with or
without security) or the granting of liens or
other credit.
7. To act as surety give securities or
grant guarantees or indemnities or incur similar
liabilities.
8. The opening of closing of any bank
account and the designation of persons to have
signature authority over any such bank account.
9. The designation of person to have
authority to execute contracts on behalf of the
Company.
10. Any change, amendment or other
alteration in the name, from of organization or
qualification or license to do business.
A. JOB DESCRIPTION AND PERFORMANCE
ASSESSMENT OF OPERATIONS MANAGER BY MEASURED &
SET OBJECTIVES

The objective of this assessment is to look at
weak areas of the person in order to set up,
change and make objectives to improve in those
areas.

The assessment is based on eight (8) objectives
with a total score of 1200 points.

1. Health Safety & Environment Management
System 5%

The Operations Manager is responsible for the
following on Safety:

 Implementing HSE policy requirements
 Establishing HSE objectives and targets
to meet the Company HSE objective and safety
plan.
 Establishing procedures and controls to
ensure all activities are conducted in
accordance with the HSE Management System.
 Identification of training needs to
enable all personnel to meet Company objectives
and safety targets.
 Establishing methods for consultation
with all employees on HSE matters.
 Promptly investigating accidents and
incidents and near miss reports and providing
effective follow-up.
 Demonstrating a clear commitment to HSE
Policy matters.

criteria:

2. Annual Budget & Management Information (20
Percent)
The Operations Manager should forecast annual
sales budget, review budget meetings and
achievements of the budget.

4. Operations
(9 Percent)
The Operations Manager must ensure maintenance
of efficient and profitable operations of
personnel and equipment consistent with
established good industry practices.

The Operations Manager must ensure close
coordination with customer’s personnel to ensure
trouble free execution of contracts.

5. Expenditures (10
Percent)
The Operations Manager must ensure that
expenditures of his Company are consistent with
the efficient running of his operations. He is
also to ensure proper cost control and proper
procedures to execute purchases and minimize
spending

6. Personnel (16 Percent)
The Operations Manager should ensure the high
morale of his personnel. He is to ensure that
in executing and in delegating to subordinates
and other staff that an even and just decision
is applied on a general basis so that he should
obtain at all times good morale and performance
from his staff.

7. Finance (5 Percent)
The Operations Manager should ensure financial
controls at all times including monthly
reporting, accounting costing stock control by
volume and value, invoicing of sales organizing
prompt computation of margin control, cost of
sales; arrangements to collect payments and
monitor and follow up delayed payments.
