Our client is currently searching for a Senior Estimate Engineer to set-up and maintain a project cost estimating database, to develop standard cost estimating tools and methodology for projects, to develop and maintain cost estimating procedures and ensure application across the Development projects, to assist Project Managers and project teams in establishing standard cost management processes and to review and audit project cost estimates prior to commencement of works.
Key Accountabilities
• Ensure appropriate cost estimating procedures for all development projects have been adopted by the project teams. Conduct compliance audits of development projects.
• Provide cost estimating advice to and query resolution for the development project teams with processes and engineering solutions.
• Assist Cost Control Engineer with variance analysis and AFE setup
• Participate in SQAD reviews and project risk workshops including probabilistic assessment
• Represent client on identified Standards, Industry and Professional bodies to ensure appropriate and timely transfer of information and learning’s.
• Provide discipline-mentoring to cost engineers in project teams.
• Review internal and external project cost estimates and provide assessment & recommendations
• Obtain project specific cost data and incorporate into central engineering database
• Ensure cost estimating procedures and tools are in place for Developments project team The successful candidate would have a Bachelor of Engineering or Degree Qualified Equivalent or Higher Technical qualification, along with 10 years or more experience in the Discipline and 10 years oil and gas experience. Key Project Management Knowledge
• Project Cost Estimating experience from Conceptual to Operations
• Cost Database Management in O&G environment
• Costs Estimating Tools including conceptual phase software such as Questor Key Enabling Competencies (Senior Technical Specialist)
• Coaching and guidance for less experienced colleagues
• Communication Skills; needs to be able to communicate easily at all levels
• Customer Service Focus; responds to project and team leader requests as required
• Environment Health & Safety Focus
• Team worker; able to work as part of project teams without compromising integrity Key Internal Relationships with Project Managers, Project Leaders and Engineers assigned to Project Teams. Key External Relationships with Service Contractors & Consultants.
