100-886 Chief Reservoir Engineer (Calgary) (medium, private, service)

The candidate will need to be a highly motivated self-starter with a vested interest in contributing to the growth and economic success of our client. They will need to share the company’s philosophy that the biggest opportunity lies in the pursuit of gas well production based on the ability to reactivate and produce wells using their gas well dewatering process.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
• Engineering degree – Petroleum preferred
• 10+ years E&P experience:
o Reservoir engineering
o Completions engineering
o Production engineering
o Optimization skills
o Natural gas focus preferred
• Log analysis skills
• Computer Skills:
o All Microsoft Office programs: Word / Excel / Powerpoint / etc
o Accumap / Geoscout or equivalent well database software
o Peep / ValueNavigator or equivalent engineering economics software
• Good understanding of EUB regulations and procedures
• Good familiarity with land and mineral rights purchase and negotiation issues
• Extensive knowledge of WCSB formations and their characteristics
• Broad and extensive industry contact base will be an asset
Job Description:
A general overview of job duties and responsibilities are:
• Helping to build and refine a strategy for candidate well targeting
• Perform high level well screening
• Perform detailed well candidate screening:
o Public data review
Offset well data review
o Well file review
o Engineering and operations personnel surveys
o etc
• Completion design
• Assist in various levels of negotiations and dealings with related E&P companies
• Help develop requirements for EUB well operator status
• EUB oversight and reporting
• Assist with production accounting process
• Help build additional reservoir / completions / production capabilities as required
